On 21 October 2026, IFECARM GROUP took part in the national restitution workshop organised by GERES as part of the 3R Project. The event was held at Hôtel Azalaï in Cotonou and focused on end-of-life management of WEEE/DES in Benin.
A workshop focused on a practical environmental issue
The end-of-life of electrical, electronic and solar equipment raises important questions concerning collection, treatment, recovery and the organisation of the relevant systems. The national restitution workshop provided an opportunity to discuss the conditions needed for more sustainable WEEE/DES management in Benin.
The presentation of a forward-looking and participatory study
The event formed part of a forward-looking and participatory study. This approach makes it possible to consider possible developments in a sector, better understand the needs of the stakeholders concerned and support collective thinking about responsible end-of-life equipment management.
Thinking about a pilot workshop
The workshop also included the presentation of an analysis of the economic model of a pilot workshop. This component adds an economic and organisational dimension to the discussion on WEEE/DES management, without making assumptions about its implementation, future results or wider deployment.
IFECARM GROUP’s participation
By taking part, IFECARM GROUP joined a national discussion focused on the sustainable management of end-of-life equipment. This participation reflects the group’s interest in QHSE issues related to the prevention of environmental and health risks, responsible waste management and practices that contribute to a more circular economy in Benin.
IFECARM GROUP is pleased to have taken part in this event and to share these insights into the challenges of responsible electrical and electronic equipment management.
